This shot was perhaps a bit forced, but no less iconic.  I had mixed feelings about last night’s finale immediately after viewing, but after a night’s sleep and a morning’s coffee, I’m warming to this episode and its role as a bookend for the whole season.  How interesting in a season seemingly defined by its Big Moments and Developments — Fat Betty!  Pete and Lane fighting in the office!  Roger dropping LSD!  Paul as a Hare Krishna!  Joan and Jaguar!  Peggy leaving!  Lane’s suicide! — it ended with the vague-yet-deep subtlety that, until this season, defined the series as a whole.
I love this show.
